Children enjoy the fresh ocean air and free books this summer at the Open-Air Library in Sidney, BC!
Open-Air Library is a free program sponsored by Saanich Peninsula Literacy in partnership with The Sidney Rotary, Vancouver Raise-a-Reader, Decoda, The Town of Sidney, Peninsula “1000 X 5” Children’s Book Recycling Project, GVPL, Sidney / North Saanich Library, Peninsula Connections for Early Childhood, SD#63 and many others.
Everyone is welcome to visit us at Iroquois Park next to the putting green to select from a wide range of reading materials, relax with a good book on our cozy blankets, enjoy the fresh air and take home a book afterwards. Reading materials are available for all ages; there is no need to register, this is a FREE drop-in program. Take ONE book home with you.
Spend your day at Iroquois Park where children can enjoy the splash pad, playground and nearby green space. There is a tennis court and ball court as well as the Sidney Food Bank all nestled in nicely together to create a great community space for all to enjoy!
Dates: Due to Covid-19 there will be no OAL this summer.
*we will not run the program in poor weather
In addition to our regular Open Air Library, we often have some additional activities planned like the Booksmack event, StoryWalk and Book Binding.
